Tattoo Removal

We all have regrets. It’s just unfortunate for some that those regrets are inked onto our skin. Whether it’s the name of an ex-lover smeared across your chest or a cheeky design you got after one (or three) too many drinks, we’re here to help you, not judge you (although we do love hearing the stories!).

How does it work?

At Limestone Laser Clinic, we use the latest and greatest Pico Second technology to free you from your regrets – woops, we mean tattoos.

The laser from this state of the heart machine reacts only with the ink of the tattoo and smashes it into tiny, broken particles. The body’s lymphatic system then drains those particles, leaving clearer, faded ink. We can achieve a 90-95% clearance of the tattoo, with only a slight shadow left behind.

How long does it take?

t depends on the size of the tattoo. It could be as quick as 10 seconds for a small line tattoo or up to an hour or more for a full arm sleeve. The heavier and more colourful it is, the longer each session will take.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions depends on the size of the tattoo and the area of the body it’s on. This is because our lymphatic system works faster in some areas of our body than others. As a guideline, it typically takes between 6 and 10 sessions which are spaced 6 to 8 weeks apart.

Can you treat coloured tattoos?

We sure can! We can treat all colours and spectrums of tattoos. It is important to note that metallic inks don’t absorb the light as well as regular colours, so won’t be removed as well as other inks.

Is it painful?

We’re not going to lie to you – this isn’t a relaxing day spa treatment. But, if you’ve withheld the pain of a tattoo, we trust you can manage the discomfort of its removal. The pain between getting ink in the first place and getting it removed is very comparable.

Some clients do prefer to apply an over-the-counter numbing cream or topical ointment prior to their consultation to assist with the discomfort. See your local pharmacist for advice.
